I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your

letter of December 27th informing me that the Hongkong Fore-

shore and Sea Bed Amendment Ordinance, 1932, was passed by the

Legislative Council of Hongkong on August 18th last.

I fear there has been some confusion in regard to

the title of the measure about which I wrote to you on

December 6th. The Ordinance I referred to in that letter is //24/52

the draft bill to be cited as the Foreshore and Sea Bed Works

Ordinance, 1932, published on page 762 of the Hongkong Govern-

ment Gazette of August 19th, not the Ordinance to which you

refer in your reply.

For this mistake I may be in part responsible, for I

misquoted the title of the Ordinance in letters addressed to

in 3 in 92503.

which may have been communicated to you. I should have quoted

the Foreshore and Sea Bed Works Ordinance referred to above.

This proposed Ordinance is, as far as I am aware,

still in draft stage, and my Committee would be glad to be

acquainted with your views upon its representation in regard to
